For the final project in my photography class, we were tasked with creating a photo series. I chose to photograph a teddy bear in a somewhat unusual situation. This bear is depicted ending its life in various ways. I wanted to showcase the contrast between dark subject matter with a happy, smiling object. This makes for an interesting story, which evokes confusing and differing emotions. I also played with the concept of depression, in which those who smile the brightest may also be those who are suffering the most emotionally and mentally.

Throughout this project, I learned a lot about my abilities and interest in photography. I had a lot of fun staging scenes that demonstrate my ideas. I also enjoyed brainstorming and creating the photos, including the editing process. I made sure to make use of the photography techniques and composition rules that I have learned, such as using varying focal lengths and angles.
